Road to First Oil
MOGCL commenced crude oil production and injection via her LACT unit into the Trans Niger Pipeline (“TNP”) for transport to the Bonny Export Terminal from the Oza Oil Field in September 2017 with OZA 2 and 4 producing.
Crude oil production and injection was suspended in October 2019 following the increased loss of crude oil in the TNP and subsequent shut down of the TNP. Over 100,000 barrels of crude oil was injected via the TNP to Bonny Export terminal.
MOGCL and Decklar petroleum signed a risk agreement which led to workover of the OZA 1 well. The produced crude oil was evacuated via trucks to Edo and Duport refineries both in EDO state.
MOGCL resumed crude oil injection via her LACT unit into the Trans Niger Pipeline (“TNP”) for transport to the Bonny Export Terminal from the Oza Oil Field on the 27th November 2023. Delivery of crude oil to local refinery in Edo state is also ongoing via trucking operations. MOGCL and her partners successfully delivered over 100,000 barrels to both refineries via trucking operations.
Crude oil production is currently ongoing in OZA 1 and 4 wells with average production of 500bbls daily. Due to poor pipeline integrity resulting from continuous sabotage, MOGCL obtained an infield trucking approval from the Nigeria Upstream Petroleum Regulatory commission to truck produced crude oil from OZA 1 production facility to her LACT unit beside Isimiri flow station for subsequent injection into Trans Niger Pipeline (“TNP”) for transport to the Bonny Export Terminal.
MOGCL have successfully injected 36,000 barrels of crude oil into the TNP via her LACT unit between 27th November 2023 and 31st March 2024.
The uninterrupted availability of the TNP between the Oza Field and the Bonny export terminal will enable MOGCL and her partners to deliver a steady crude oil to market and improve her financial position through revenue generation. This will also aid her plans for additional field development.
